Amy Perl’s photography is all about finding joy in the everyday—the silly, the sweet, and the beautifully unpolished moments that make life feel real. With over 20 years of experience behind the camera, Amy has mastered the art of capturing genuine connection, humor, and warmth without stiff poses or forced smiles.
Her approach is relaxed and playful, embracing natural light, movement, and personality. Whether it’s a child mid-giggle, a pet caught being ridiculous, or an unexpected still life of curious objects, Amy has a gift for turning ordinary moments into photographs that feel deeply personal and uniquely true.
A creative seeker from an early age, Amy was introduced to photography as an art form in high school—and that was it. While shooting for the school newspaper and yearbook, she discovered a deep love for storytelling through images. She went on to earn a BFA in Photography from the University of Colorado Boulder. Although her academic focus leaned toward conceptual work and arid landscapes, the connection she felt while photographing people was always at the heart of her work.
Before launching her photography business, Amy worked as an Associate Art Director for GapKids and BabyGap, helping shape fun, engaging visual campaigns. After stepping away from the corporate world to focus on family and creative portraiture, her work evolved into something even more meaningful—preserving the authentic connections that make people laugh, feel comfortable, and feel at home.
What clients love most about working with Amy is her ability to transform even the most awkward or unpredictable moments into images that are honest, beautiful, and often downright hilarious. She’s not chasing perfection—she’s capturing the joyful mess, the realness, and the personality that make life so special. With her warm, welcoming energy, every session feels less like a photo shoot and more like a fun, easygoing adventure—one that leaves you with memories you’ll smile about for years to come.
Her style is fresh and playful, embracing natural light and movement, and she’s all about showing life as it is—messy, real, and full of personality. Whether it’s a kid caught in the middle of a laugh attack, a pet doing something ridiculous, or a still-life arrangement of odd objects, Amy knows how to make it feel personal and completely unique to her clients.
Before diving into her photography business, Amy worked as an Associate Art Director for GapKids and BabyGap, where she helped create fun and engaging campaigns.
